NHS Bury Talking Therapies (Previously Healthy Minds)

Can provide a range of talking therapies for people struggling with their mental health, such as difficulty sleeping, low mood, stress, worry or anxiety, feelings of low self worth or panic attacks.

They can also help you to cope with the effects of a long-term health problem or chronic pain, post natal depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, eating difficulties and post traumatic stress reactions.

Please note the service is NOT an emergency service, if you're feeling desperate or suicidal you should contact the GP, ring 111 or attend your nearest A&E as soon as possible.

The service is available to people over the age of 16 and registered with a GP in Bury, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside & Glossop, and Rochdale.

You can refer yourself using the online form. Head over to the website using the following link  https://www.penninecare.nhs.uk/burytalk and navigate to the 'Make a Referral' section to make a referral.

Online Self -Help Program Silver Cloud

Healthy Minds are offering a new mental health self-help program called SilverCloud, where you can instantly access materials which have been shown to have a positive impact on depression, anxiety and stress.

You can log into the program from any device as often as you want, and they will regularly support you as you work through the materials. Once you have completed the program you will still be able to access the information in your account for up to a year.

Unfortunately SilverCloud is only available in English at the moment. If you would like to access their services but don't speak English, please complete the Bury Talking Therapies referral form and they will contact you to arrange an interpreter.

 

Debt Advice

There is strong link between debt and mental health problems.

If you need help with debt advice please visit Money Advice Service where you will find supporting organisations offering online, telephone and face-to-face debt advice services.

Services are free, confidential and hold a standard or membership code accredited by the Money and Pensions Service.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

If you are under the age of 16, you are a parent/caregiver or you work with someone under 16, who needs some Mental Health help/advice, CAMHS can help you.
